Text of the Agreement
  Background and Negotiations
   

On July 18, 2019, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama signed the UK-Central America Association Agreement in Managua, Nicaragua. The agreement ensures that Central America and the UK will benefit from continued trade after the latter leaves the European Union.

  Entry into Force
On October 29, 2019, Panama’s National Assembly of Deputies approved the Central America-UK Association Agreement. The Central America-United Kingdom Association Agreement entered into force on January 1st, 2021.
