In April 2013, Mexico and Paraguay agreed to negotiate an Economic Complementation Agreement (ECA) that will replace the Agreement of Partial Scope of Renegotiation Nº 38  , currently in force. There are three rounds of negotiations scheduled to take place in 2013. Both countries will also explore the possibility of subscribing a free trade agreement.
