Background and Negotiations |

The Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Paraguay the Republic of China (Taiwan) was signed on July 12, 2017
and entered into force on February 28, 2018. Decision No.7 of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the
Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of Paraguay entered into force on 15 January 2022. The contents of
the Decision grant 11 Paraguayan products, including fresh or chilled swine, frozen bovine offal, prepared or
preserved meat of bovine animals (hamburger beef), other sugar confectionery, rice paper, extracts of tea or
mate, other food preparations, wadding of man-made fibers, and blankets of synthetic fibers, zero tariffs for
importation into Taiwan.
