Peru and India will begin trade negotiations in June 2017. Disciplines
to be covered will include, among others: tariffs, sanitary and phytosanitary measures,
technical barriers to trade, investments, services, cooperation, and movement of people.
The first round of trade negotiations took place on August 8-11, 2017 in New Delhi, India.
The second round of negotiations was held in Lima, Peru on April 9-12, 2018. During this round,
nine working groups met on areas such as Market Access, Trade Defense, Services, and Investment.
The third round of negotiations ended on December 7, 2018 in New Delhi, India. On March 15, 2019,
Peru and China held the fourth round of trade negotiations in Lima, Peru. The fifth round of
negotiations ended in New Delhi, India on August 23, 2019. The sixth round of Peru – India negotiations to reach a Trade Agreement took place from February 12 to 14, 2024, in Lima, Peru.
