On May 15, 2019, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru signed the UK-Andean Countries Trade Agreement in Quito, Ecuador to ensure trade continuity agreement with the UK after it leaves the European Union. In October 2019, Peru and the UK agreed to continue current trade benefits until the FTA recently signed by the two nations enters into force. In February 2020, it was announced that trade relations between Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will continue to be governed by the Andean Countries-UK Agreement until December 31, 2020. Ecuador's National Assembly approved the Ecuador-UK Trade Agreement on July 10, 2020.

The Congress of Peru approved the Peru-UK Trade Agreement on December 28, 2020. Colombia’s Congress approved the Colombia-UK FTA on October 28, 2020. Given that the internal procedures for the implementation of the Agreement have not been completed, the two countries decided to continue their current trade relationship in force since 2013.

The agreement between Peru and the United Kingdom entered into force on December 31, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

The Trade Agreement between Colombia and the United Kingdom entered into force on June 28, 2022.
