On February 28, 2024, within the framework of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Undersecretary of International Economic Relations of Chile and the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of Mexico signed the terms of reference (ToR) for the Modernization of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
On May 8, 2024, the first meeting on the modernization process of the Free Trade Agreement between Chile and Mexico was held - virtually. This process seeks to update the agreement, which celebrates 25 years of implementation in 2024, by incorporating disciplines related to inclusive trade, introducing chapters on Gender and Trade and MSMEs.
