On 17 February 2004, Panama and Singapore announced that they had agreed to initiate negotiations towards a free trade agreement. After three rounds of negotiations, a free trade agreement was signed on 01 March 2006.
The Panama-Singapore Free Trade Agreement entered into force on 24 July 2006.
