Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries launches digitization plan
As a result of the VI Inter-American Dialogue of High-Level MSME Authorities, held in El Salvador in
April of this year, Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries launches a
Digitization Plan in partnership with the digital platform KOLAU. This company from Silicon Valley,
a Strategic Partner of Google, offers a technology that will allow the digitization of 25,000 MSMEs
in Jamaica.

Honduras launches digitization plan
This month Honduras will launch the OAS/KOLAU Digitization Plan that will enable 30,000 Honduran
MSMEs to have a Web page through this technology over a three year period. This Plan will be one
of the key elements to improve the sustainability of MSMEs in the country.

Regional model of attention to MSMEs generated more than 60 million in sales in SICA countries
The Center for the Promotion of Micro and Small Businesses in Central America (CENPROMYPE) presented the successful
results of the regional model of attention to MSMEs in the SICA region during the meeting of its Directing Council
held on August 21, 2019 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. In 2018, companies and enterprises served by the MSME Support
Centers (CAM) generated US $ 63.8 million in sales throughout the region, which created 44,857 jobs.
