This OAS MSME Newsletter is published by the Department of Economic Development of the Executive Secretariat for Integral
Development (SEDI). It is dedicated to measures recently announced by OAS Member States to drive the economic recovery
of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The policy responses vary from country to country and are specific
to the economic circumstances of each Member State. Given that every day produces new developments, this inventory is in
no way exhaustive.
SMEs may request assistance of up to $ 40 million to finance projects that increase their exports
Through the National Fund for Productive Development (FONDEP), SEPYME supports companies to increase exportable products,
consolidate export destinations and increase value added through design, innovation and the incorporation of 4.0 technology.
The Ministry of Productive Development has already granted one million credits to SMEs and entrepreneurs
The financing was for a total of more than $ 216,000 million.
In 20 months, the Government granted more than 800,000 loans to SMEs
The Ministry of Productive Development provided 31 lines of financing that were launched by the Secretariat for Small and Medium Enterprises
and Entrepreneurs. It includes loans at a rate of 24% per year and financing of the ATP program, among other tools.

The launch of “Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021” was launched. Through this event the Guatemalan entrepreneurial community
benefited with workshops, trainings, fairs, as well as analysis and discussions of public policies in favor of this important
productive sector of the country. The event was held from November 5 to 16, 2021. The directories also include locations,
emails, telephone numbers, contacts and the productive sector to which the companies belong, information that is used by
purchasing units to have a complete vision of potential suppliers.

(MIC), delivers certificates to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, of various categories, with industrial activity, who were selected
as beneficiaries of PCM 2021.
Successful closing of the training cycle for MSMEs with export potential
The training cycle began on October 6 and lasted until November 9, through 11 virtual modules aimed at MSMEs, by promoting exports,
identifying potential international markets, hosted on the Distance Training Platform (PCD).
